At 14-16 weeks you think? My 9 week old EE cockerel has a comb that big already. I agree though mounting sounds like a young male coming into his hormones. Maybe it's a slow maturing cockerel?

Yeah I mean I was originally thinking cockerel from pictures until op gave the age and it seemed pretty late for that size and color of comb to me, but yeah I could see a late bloomer I suppose
