It has a black butt, none of my holderread saxony had that.

You're right, none of the other saxony in my batch have the black tail feathers either. I guess he's just not a great specimen. Maybe he will look more appropriate when he feathers in.

Yes i dont think the quality of markings as a hatchling will reflect on the markings when grown. But i think if you are worried about markings you should have bought show quality ducklings.

Its just looks, their production traits will be the same. If you dont know what to look for you probably couldn't tell the difference.
