I'm supposed to have 4 silver appleyards but one of them doesnt have much of a mohawk. Is he still an appleyard? They're from Holderreads, so I hope they're all the right breed.

It's hard to tell from the picture but he does have dark tail feathers, just no distinctive mohawk.

Some SA come completely yellow looking when young, normal.
Would the completely yellow ones develop the normal markings of the silver appleyards or would it result in a totally white bird? I know they are known to throw white appleyards occassionally but that it is undesirable for breeding true to their standards.

My next thought is should I ask for a replacement? I specifically ordered 4 silver appleyards, not the white appleyards which cost less, and then 18 assorted. I only recieved 3 with mohawks and then this little guy with black tail feathers (close but still probably not going to work for breeding like I had planned).

Maybe I just sorted them wrong? Anyone want to weigh in?

silver appleyard in question

I was really hoping to be able to make breeding groups. They will be pets with a mission of breeding and selling hatching eggs/ducklings so if this one doesnt fit in one of the groups I'm not sure what to do with it.

I don't think it will be a white appleyard because it still has the eye marking and a faint mohawk

My only other guess was maybe they sent me 5 saxony on accident instead of the 4 appleyards. I'm hoping for appleyard!
