Silver Appleyard Hatching Eggs

Honestly if you could see these eggs you would think they were only 3 weeks along, not close to hatching. I just don't think they are going to hatch. There's movement inside and they are still alive but the duckling inside is so small compared to the space left inside the egg and I'm not talking about the aircell. There's just so much clear part at the bottom of the egg. It's almost like they need another week to grow but I don't know if ducks do that. If they aren't ready to hatch will they just die inside the egg?

Likely they'll die if they don't hatch. Once there is still life inside just wait for some time and keep candling them.

I have pips! 2 of them! I had to help one pierce the membrane but so far so good. Let's hope they make it out of the eggs and survive. The third egg looks to be a lost hope.

I've moistened the membranes because they were a little dry. I tried to up the humidity with wet paper towels. Now I'm not sure I will sleep cause I want to check on them constantly.

Well one died without fully hatching. Looks like he drowned in fluid because when I took him out of the egg fluid came out of his nostrils.

The second one is still peeping but hasn't emerged yet.
