Lyric reared, nickering. She made a small circle, then walked closer to Chad and Cowboy.

Chad rose and took out a bowie knife he had on his belt. He went and cut two strong pieces of wood. He used the knife to cut pieces from his shirt and made a splint for Cowboy.

Chad took somthing out of his pocket,and cut a piece with his knife and gave it to Cowboy. It was hore-hound candy. He held some out to Lyric.
