Kai vaguely heard another horse crying out for help in the distance. She put her head up and her ears pricked forward. Kai wasn't a hero. It wasn't in her blood, but every once in awhile some instinct drove her forward. Launching herself forward, she took off towards the distress call wondering vaguely what she was getting herself into

Napoleon started chasing her into the canyons. He drove her into a corner and stopped running.
