It is very pretty...but it looks more like a splash than a silver lace. And I think it may be a Roo...sorry :/

sorry to say you're wrong on both counts... it's a mottled, and a cockerel. NOT silver laced.

I think you are right. I was leaning towards it being a roo also. It was sold to me as a silver as a chick but now I see the Mottled.

I was going to say mottled, but it looked so white on the front....sorry...I don't raise mottled or splash :/

I have 2 cockerels that I am asking what they are.
The cochin cockerel in back I am calling silver laced. Is that correct?


This one I call splashed. Is that correct?


Or are they just Heinz 57? They are 3 1/2 months old or so.

some silver laced, if the genetics are heterozygous in some places where they should be homozygous, are 'incompletely laced' which is where the second one falls... yes he's silver laced, but very poorly marked, though that may improve somewhat with age.

the one in the first pic,in front, is a sebright silver laced... similar results but different genetics. if you note the cochin has a black tail and the sebright has a laced tail. that is one of the most notable differences.
