Agree with BantyChooks. I found the 1985 color addition of the SOP at Value Village today for 2.99. Amazon probably has great deals on them, too, especially used.

Yeah, I was surprised. I already had an older edition but couldn't pass up 2.99. I will say I think the drawings in the old edition, even though black and white, are a lot better than the tiny color plates in the 1985 edition. I am unsure of how newer editions fare but hopefully they've improved.

For $45 per book, I really hope they have.

45 bucks? Heck naw. Amazon has got to have better than that. You probably don't need the latest edition, anyway. Nothing much changes except new breeds and varieties being added, and SL Polish isn't new.

I would buy the Standard of Perfection. It will answer all of these questions. Right now the APA actually has a holiday deal on it.
I would also join the Polish Club, not sure of the exact name, it will offer you many tools for breeding, and help you meet people.

Not much. They're larger, kind of, but at least for my breed they could be significantly improved. I have the 2015 edition.

I have heard rumours that the ABA is using photographs for their next edition. It would be lovely if the APA followed suit.

Nope... Amazon is only about $5 cheaper. Do you know when the APA added the first 30 pages to it, or has it always been there? I have seen older editions for more like $30 and I was thinking about buying it as a backup. Didn't want to waste my $$ if it doesn't have what I want.

I also have the 2015 edition, and it is very nice. Although real pictures would be nice some of the times.
