Now that OH is home from work, was able to get some better close up pictures from the top and front (took the opportunity to inspect a few of them whilst I was at it )

Does it crow? Mine was quite vocal by that age.

No. The only one who is crowing is the (younger) Pekin (who sounds like someone is trying to strangle him )

I still say pullet. That feather patterning, and tail shape look female to me. My Gold laced wyandotte girls have pink waddles and combs too, but not as large or deep red as my cockerel. Mine is starting to make grown up noises and alerting everyone to danger, but not crowing yet.

This one doesn,t make any noise except for the odd squeak when initially picked up (but settles quickly).

Well, I think fingers crossed on the pullet, we've decided we're going to keep and watch and see
