Silver laced Wyandotte.. no silver??

I'm sure she'll be gorgeous! I'm obsessed with lacing pattern, I have a golden laced Wyandotte, a golden laced Polish, and a silver laced Orp. I was THIS close to buying a red laced blue Wyandotte last night, but the Silver Spangled Hamburg won out, lol. Trying to get a decent mix of patterns and I already have a lot of lace, so I added in some spangle (Hamburg), speckle (Sussex), and barred (Dominique).

me too! These will be my first laced chicks.... I got in a little too late in the game last year, and was only left with the few chicks available... But I have in my brooder currently: 1 of each: buff laced polish, silver laced polish, silver laced Wyandotte, blue laced red Wyandotte, Light Brahma, black Australorp... All but the blue laced Wyandotte are sexed pullets, but pray that it is a Pullet too!

Buff laced Polish is the only color/breed of lace other than red laced blue I haven't managed to get that I want. I may have to break down and get some buff Polish hatching eggs and save at least one chick for myself, lol.

Please post pics of that blue laced red Wyandotte as it gets older, I would love to see how it turns out! The colors on them online vary so wildly.

I don't remember my hatchery gold laced Wyandotte actually getting 'lacing' except on her breast when she had her juvenile feathers.

That's last year, her lacing got a little more defined after she molted this past fall.

Good luck! Laced birds can be so pretty! However, I've heard that lacing is a difficult trait, as it can be so variable.

Here is our one and only SLW through the first year at 5 weeks, 10 weeks, and 8 months. She is not a very good representation of lacing. Still stands out in the flock, but she is not show quality.

I agree that is normal. Mine didn't start to get lacing until she was about 8 weeks old.

Thanks guys! Today she got white... Blotches at the tip of the feathers, but at least there is white! My blue laced red Wyandotte chick has Amazing lacing already! The only problem is I think she has a cushion comb instead of rosecomb..... That's unfortunate! The SLW has a rosecomb... I guess neither wanted to be perfect!
