So I got these from a guy who swore they were females. They were 4-5 weeks old when I got them and now they are about 9-10 weeks old. They are looking like cockerals to me due to the coloring. I have been looking at pictures of random silver penciled barred rock and the pullets should have a lot more barring and a lot less black by now. I feel like I got screwed because I can't have roosters in my neighborhood. What do you guys think? Cockerals? Pullets? Give them another 2 weeks? Thanks in advance!!!

He is a rooster his comb is to large for a female and his coloring would be different if he were a female the picture below is of some young hens this is how a female of his age would look

Thanks for the response. I'm going to contact him and see if we can work something out.

Speaking of Silver Penciled Rocks, any sense from you experts out there whether this 6 week old is a lady or a gent?

Yay he ended up swapping them out. Here's one of my new girls.

I'm no expert but what I noticed was my boys were growing a lot darker (black feathers around chest and wings) and that's why I questioned it. From my novice perspective, I would say girl from the chest alone.
