Silver Phase Welsh Harlequins wanted!!

Ya, they sure did chage a lot over the year.......I am pretty happy with how they turned out, you never really know when you buy from a "hatchery". I know Metzer has healty and well kept birds, but it is hard to cull with an operation such as theirs...... that being said, I am really happy with my gals!! LOL

Yes, yes they are. I have 4 of them.....I can take some pictures of them later today. They have also chaged a lot; Right now they are realy light colored, compaired to last summer.... I am wondering if they are getting ready to molt or something...or if they are changing into their true/adult coloring... The Golden 300, last summer: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6333.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6337.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6368.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6408.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6411.jpg And for fun....the backside of my more colorful WH ...from last summer http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z244/TBitt/Ducks/100_6457.jpg (I think I like my birds too much...I have WAY too many pictures.... *blush* )

They are also very beautiful!! It's really comforting to see full grown ducks for metzers... I usually only see juvenile pictures

I also wanted ad I've never seen an actual picture of a hybrid mature. I didn't realize they were so beautiful:) I have a little boy.

Everyone has culls and no ones saying it's impossible to get a SQ duck from Metzer's. It's just that your chances of getting show quality birds are better with a good breeder who pays attention to their breeding stock (like Holderread).
True, True, good genetics and attention to breeding make for a better chance at a quality bird. I just see allot of posts on this website that say "SQ". Maybe 1 st place maybe last place, the judge that day and the competition will decide. Birds can come from show quality stock , but in my opinion it takes experience and a good eye( trying to learn myself) to see and have SQ. That is unless you buy a show winner. But what is the fun in that.

Theres no fun in just buying a adult show bird

. I would rather buy ducklings, and pick out my breeders.

I have a adult pair straight from metzer farms stock, and they are VERY nice for metzers stock. I also have 2 other hens from them, but they are going to a new home... I also have 3 pairs of welsh harlequin ducklings in my brooder from holderread, and will probably keep 2 hens and a drake. Maybe only a pair. But I would like to keep a drake from both holderread, and metzer, so I have 2 seperate lines.

Sorry, my computer is messed up, and doesn't post right. But all those Welshies are from Metzer farms.
