I hatched 2 Silver Spangled Hamburgs a couple of months ago but I know nothing about them. How can I tell what they are? They look just alike to me. Please help! They are quite flighty. A little while ago I had a hawk swoop down and try to take a chick. Thank you Chuck the turkey, for attacking the hawk back. The hawk went away empty clawed. Now the chicks are in an enclosure so I'm unable to have physical contact as easy for a while. I only have 2 but took several pic's.

Those are both pullets. You can tell because their combs and wattles are tiny and pale. If they were large(ish) and red, it would be a rooster.

Can anyone tell me anything about them? In April, I bought 1 doz eggs from a lady that were fertile because I had a broody hen and we did not have a rooster. She had quite a variety of eggs for sale so I told her to give me a mix. 5 EE's and these 2 hatched. (5 eggs were not fertile) I was excited about these 2 and read up on them but still not an expert. I know they are flighty and more slender than the EE's. (They are certainly beautiful) Anything else anyone can offer about them? Thank you so much for all your input.
Sue
