At 4 months of age I would expect to see some green feathers coming in in the tail.
Also notice how the lacing of the cockerels’ wings and back are very different from the op’s bird which is a pullet.

I'm thinking I'm changing my vote as well... That second pic really does look like there's saddle feathers in there. But the rounded feathers confuse me, because I thought males didn't get them.

Please feel free to post more photos from different angles. We can't see the tail in either photo. Actually, it's stance and eye make me think it might not be in the best of health. It looks to have a hunched, tail down posture and some of it's feathers appear to be damaged..... does it get picked on?

I agree with @rebrascora . This bird does not look healthy.
I am leaning toward the cockerel side of the fence strictly based on the pointed saddle feathers.

I'm going to have to stick with @Brahma Chicken5000 and say it's a pullet for now, Still a bit skeptic though.

Can I see a better pic of the legs? Cockerels at 4 months old will start getting their hormones in and have a red line going up their leg from their feet.

He won't if he is slow maturing and/or not in good health, as I suspect.

That's very true.. The lacing on him really wants me to think pullets despite the pointed saddle feathers.. Time will tell.
