Simple feeder idea

Hey everyone. I just wanted to upload a picture of my chicken feeder just to give people an idea. It's just made out of PVC parts you can find at Home Depot. We have two in our coop and it can hold enough food for a few days.

There are a lot of crafty ideas to make our life easier. Looks like 4 inch PVC. Do you use pellets, or crumbles? and do your chickens ever bill any of the feed out?

We used to use crumbles, but since my hens have gotten older, we have been using pellets. The hens sometimes bill some feed out, but they eat it off the ground quickly. We have two, and we only have to refill them twice a week.

That is the main thing to minimize waste. I only use pellets now, they are easily picked up by the chickens if they end on the ground.

Yeah since we've been using pellets there has been a lot less waste. We made them for the times we aren't home to let them out.
