Singing Chickens???

if anyone wants to read my story through amulet's eyes go back to PICTURES & STORIES OF MY CHICKENS and look until you see a title that reads FEATHER WINGS-TRUE STORY OF MY CHICKENS

You and your chickens should go on a talent show! Mine holler and squawk and complain all day, but they don't sing.

haha! my chickens will complain too. like if it's free-range time (sat and sun all day), and pepper goes off to lay an egg, amulet (buff orpington) will squawk and squawk until I have to go out there and make her shut her beak. (no chickens are harmed by doing that, all I have to do is walk outside and loudly shut the door, then they come to me going "bock bock booock bock?"
crazy chickens...

during free-range time they will also come up on the back patio and peck at their reflection in the door.
the other day they fell asleep at the back door!

I'd love to see a video of your singing chicken

Ours definitely talk in various tones, but they don't sing much. Maybe that's 'cause I haven't tried singing to them though

Aw, your hens sound adorable! None of my girls sing (unless you count eggsong, which nobody would buy concert tickets for), but I do have a chatty kathy named Darla.

During the summer when we eat outside, she'll hop up on my knee, launch into a 3 minute session of 'bwak bk bk bok, buk..", then fluff herself and hop down. I always get the feeling that she's catching me up on the day's gossip.

She'll even start nattering away when you interrupt her laying. "Oh! Goodness me.... did you hear what Ophelia saw on the fence the other day...."
