My chicks have been in their new house for two days now and last night after I shut them in their little house for the night my son came running in the house saying strange noises were coming from the coop. I went out there and I heard singing! Is that what they call trilling? Does that mean my chicks are happy or does it have another meaning?

is this thier first nights w/o light? did they have a heat lamp on them all the time before? If so they are just panicing without light, they will get over it.

When I hear the trilling I can't help but take a look at who it is and what they are doing. Every time whether chick or chicken they have been roosting, cuddling, sunbathing, all happy contented activities. But when chicks are frightened because they lost their light it's very loud panicky chirping. Sounds to me like your chicks are very happy and secure in their new home.
