Yearling Slate toms can fly very well. At two they are developing enough weight and have other things on their minds that they tend to forget that they can fly.
Okay. My Bourbon and Black toms very much stayed on the ground. The Eastern Wild of course did not. I'm just glad he goes to roost with the chickens each night instead of flying up into the tree in their pen or something equally unprotected.
I don't suppose anyone knows of any breeders in the North East (DFW) area of Texas where I could find him some lady friends? I've not had much luck on Facebook.
