Single Blue Slate Jake

Yearling Slate toms can fly very well. At two they are developing enough weight and have other things on their minds that they tend to forget that they can fly.

Okay. My Bourbon and Black toms very much stayed on the ground. The Eastern Wild of course did not. I'm just glad he goes to roost with the chickens each night instead of flying up into the tree in their pen or something equally unprotected.

I don't suppose anyone knows of any breeders in the North East (DFW) area of Texas where I could find him some lady friends? I've not had much luck on Facebook.

Try putting a wanted ad on your local craigslist. The best source of local information is a local feed store. They typically know their customers very well and know what they raise. They often have a bulletin board on which they allow their customers to post wanted or for sale ads. This does not apply to chain feed stores.
