Single clingy chick HELP

so I just got a baby chick she's a couple of days old. And I have this little caged I have her in because our other hens rejected her. And she's really clingy she doesn't stop chirping until somebody's holding her. And during the night I tried to put the stuff in there and she wouldn't cuddle with it and to keep tripping and I try to put a feather duster in there to act like a mama and she wouldn't even go near it so she the only way for her to calm down is to lay right behind my neck and I'm scared that I'm going to crush her while I'm sleeping. What should I do

Do you have a heat source for your chick?

See my avatar ... Feather duster under the heat light (40watt light bulb), had a mirror leaning on the side of the container but it preferred the feather duster. Left a radio on for background noise.

You could go to the feed store, pick up 2 chicks to keep it company They'll still need a heat source.

I used a feather duster and its seemed to calm her down a little bit. I do have a heat source for her and in the morning Im you going back to the feed store to get her a sister and i hope it'll work. Thanks ❤

You need a heat lamp or similar source. Adding an additional chick will only make the chirping twice as bad. I recently raised a single bantam (against my wishes...) under a heat lamp with no issue, except that he was like velcro to me. They are sociable. They require heat. Hope this helps.

I have a lone bantam chick, too, but s/he seems to be adjusting okay. For lack of anything better at the moment, I put a balled up sock in there the first few days. I won't make THAT mistake again. Once the little one got active, the poor baby's toenails (can't quite call 'em claws, yet!) kept getting caught on the loops. You should have heard the screeches! Funny thing was, you could tell that they weren't panic screams. The little bugger was MAD! For a solo, it's a feisty little bugger. I have a sinking feeling that I have another cockerel on my hands. Its not that I mind the boys. They're all welcome to join the bachelor flock, but I desperately need pullets! ARRRGGGHHH!

Yeah, I definitely would be careful you don’t accidentally fall asleep with it! Crushing is a possibility.

I love when they are a few weeks old and you put your hand in the brooder to deliver food or a similar task... and a "pullet" from an all female order suddenly charges at you and jumps, claws up. Sneaky roos.
