Single-Combed SLW at 8 Weeks

I keep seeing the white on her wings, crossing my fingers and saying "Poor lacing. Just poor lacing".

Her rose-combed sister has beautiful lacing. :D
I've never actually owned a silver laced roo, so I'm not sure exactly how the feather out. The blue laced and the gold laced get muddy across the shoulders. The silver I've seen get more white, but only in pictures.

:fl Legs still look thin. Combs not very tall and thick either. Have you pulled feathers aside to look for saddles? Could be starts underneath if male. If male I think you'd be seeing more white on the wing by now. I still think female.

The lacing started out patchy on my females as well but has started evening out as they got older.

I think over the last 3 months I looked at every Wyandotte sexing thread on this site! lol They are tricky!

There are several weeks between these 2 photos.

I figured I'd wait for 12 weeks to start hunting for male saddle feathers.

One or two of my Australorps was showing them at 10 weeks, but 12 is more realistic, I think. :)
