They are social birds. It is not easy to just get a new one as someone else said. Please do your research before giving others the wrong idea

I believe you could put a younger cot that’s the same size in, but it will just buy you time. After a couple weeks the cot will be too big, and they can’t live together as adults as far as I know. Then what would you do with the cot? You can try posting in your state thread on this site, maybe someone can help you.

Yeah, that a shame. I did find some quails on craigslist! They are 1 hour away. Thank you for all of your help. It is not a button quail but that's okay.

Button quail are tiny, so if you get another type of quail, they shouldn't be housed with your buttons.
