Sinus infection photos

@WestKnollAmy , you can also still buy Tylan at the vet supply without a prescription, though it does not treat as many kinds of infections as Baytril. It can cause muscle/tissue damage at the injection site so you may want to consider oral dosing with some dilution.

Quote: This is how it can be used:

Indications

Cattle – Multiple-Day Therapy: Baytril® 100 is indicated for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle.

Yes, one sure could try Tylan 200, but it's not gonna treat E. coli or pseudomonas aeruginosa. Need to find those lab reports from @KsKingBee , they show how few drugs will work on both those bacteria.

Yeah, I'm hoping the Baytril she ordered gets here quickly! Was scratching my head to think what else she could do in the meantime, since she said they look pretty awful at the moment.
You're right, she could try the Tylan or the DiMetox if she hasn't already done so.

@WestKnollAmy , what drugs have you tried so far?

Yes, tried dimethox and Tylan. I did get it to recede with Tylan but in a few weeks it was back. I have cleaned their eyes with Vetericyn quite a bit.
I am thinking this is some powerful nasty stuff these 2 birds can't kick! I am trying to find an empty spot to move the other yearlings but this time of year every large pen is full. I was thinking about moving them over to the pen beside them once I fix the wire floor and then putting a cardboard wall on the wire between them.

I think it is easier to ask what have I not treated them with. OMG, we have run through everything I had in my medicine chest and bought more stuff and tried holistic approaches and cleaned and made them so they refuse to like me anymore at all. Baytril is my last option, I fear.

When you tried Tylan, how much did you give? Did you give the 50 or the 100? and how many times per day was it given? Tylan works best when they get *50 mg per pound per day*, so with Tylan 50, that's 1 ml per pound, with 200, it's 0.25 ml per pound. another thing, it should be given at least twice a day.
