If he stinks like something rotten? Could be Coryza. Sulfer antibotics might help.

I'm going to post this link here since you haven't gotten many responses. I am by NO means an expert, but am having some respiratory issues with my girls and have been searching this forum like a mad woman trying to find the answer.

Almost all the best information i have found on any and all health issues comes from "threehorses", a forum member who i have not seen a post from in a loong time. I'm hoping perhaps she is off writing a book, i would buy 10 copies! I'm at the point now that when i search a health problem, i just look for her in the responses.

This thread was about building up a chickens health for respiratory issues, which i feel is a great idea wheather or not you medicate.

Like MakNat said, stinky discharge is supposed to be a symptom of coryza. I would do a search on the forum for that and treat as indicated....while following threehorses directions for boosting the immune system.
