We have a RIR roo who is 20 wks old and he still hasn't crowed, he pays no attention to the girls either. He is the biggest or anyways the leggest chicken that we have. All of the other roos his age are crowing and definitly pays maybe a little too much attention to the girls. Is this normal, is he just a late bloomer? We even took out the other 2 roos so that maybe he would have a chance too. But he's just too concerned with eating. He thinks he has to be the first if we come out with any treats for them. I will try to add a pic later today.

my rir has not started crowing yet and he is a little over 2 months old and the younger sicilian buttercup crows, i was talking to a neighbor with chickens and he said he will crow when he is an adult, and we talked some more and it turns out because i handle him and pick on him that i am the head rooster!! kind of funny!!

We have a 20 week old BO roo and he crowed last week for the first time. His crow is very soft, not a normal crow and he only crows in the morning. He loves to eat, he isn't too interested in the girls-- but he seems so sweet. I hope 'keeper' is right--and he will be nice from now on...

Being with the other roos --he is not the 'main man' so it might take time for him to start struttin' his stuff...
