Site Update - New Galleries Tab & Album Organization!

Hopefully you've notice the new tab at the top of BYC... if not, it's called "Gallery" and it looks like this:




This tab takes you to our Galleries page: https://www.backyardchickens.com/g/

Over the last few months we've added some great functionality to this page, and just today we added some new categories:

• Chicken Breeds
• Chicken Coops & Runs
• Eggs
• Brooders, Incubators, Feeders / Waterers
• Other Poultry
• Miscellaneous

Prior to the changes today there was only one category in which to put your pics... now you have a bunch to choose from!

We encourage all our members to visit this new Gallery page, look around, and then go into your own albums and see if any can / should be categorized into any of these new categories!

We also need your feedback on the new page and the categories. If you think we should make any changes or additions, please let us know!!

Oh, to re-categorize any of your existing albums, simply go into your album, and look for the "Edit Album" button. Click this, choose a new category, and save your changes!

Cool. I'd noticed the gallery earlier today and poked around, wondered how things got linked into there. Following your instructions, I set my Columbian Wyandotte album as a breeds album, looked in the gallery, and, lo and behold, there it was. Very easy.

I noticed the new tab a few days ago and had a look around. The new categories are great! Very handy. Now I don't have to do a big search when I need a pic. It's all there

Wow - this looks great.
I never noticed. - The downside of this is that the profile button got moved a while ago which I guess was to accomodate this change. The only trouble with that is that it is right above the logout button and so I have managed to log myself out a few times and once forgot my password to get back in! Maybe it could be put somewhere else????? So it isn't so easily pressed by mistake????? Just a thought. But I love the new gallery it is wonderful I am away to spend some hours -days looking at chickens!!!
