We have a couple of Black Australops and they have been doing just great. Yesterday one of them sat in the nest box for hours,
we took her out and she ate and drank some water, it was late and we thought all was well. This morning she was in the nest box again and has not come off, is she sick or is something wrong, can I help her?? Thanks

Sounds like she's broody. I have one doing the same thing right now.

They certainly don't. I had a RIR hen go broody last year without a rooster. She sat on an unfertile nest of eggs for like 3 weeks until I finally found were she was hiding at in the yard. I then replaced them with fertile eggs and she continued to sit until they hatched!.
