Can anyone shed light on my female glw chick six weeks old today that I found struggling to stand and then wobbled before falling back on her haunches. Spreads her wings out to balance, is weak but happily eats and drinks. Apparently vaccinated against merricks disease and is fed unmedicated starter ration with free range lawn pick daily, available grit, clean dirt floor scratch, sand box dust bath, limited live meal worm treat once weekly. Droppings are normal, temp normal, bright in the eyes, normal mucous membranes, clean vent. Was last wormed 2 weeks ago with praziquantel and has clean bedding daily ( wood shavings ) chick lives with 5 others next to adult chickens with the same living conditions/management. No visible sign of trauma. Has been segregated from others and is not stressed with out others as is used to being handled. I have given her electrolyte and energy supplement but holding off on antibiotics as no signs of infection. When I pick her up and place her on her legs she falls backwards. Feet are not cold.

It is possible it's a vitamin deficiency, why was it wormed?
There's a website - Poultry Pedia you may want to check out.
Riboflavin deficiency; PolyVisol without iron 1 drop 3x day, Vitamin B Complex, eggs, salmon, liver, beef, pork, spinach, nuts, sesame seeds, nutritional yeast, tuna, mushrooms, fortified cereals, Poultry Vitamins, Nutri Drench .... Some of the the things that would help, won't hurt.

Thank you I will try some of these

Chick is able to kick legs, push forcibly but propelles into a nose dive . Still eating well, tends not to drink as much as the sibling I keep with her for company. She is in a sling for a couple of hours a day broken into hour intervals then lays on her either side as she pleases. Still no sign of swellings, heat, shortening of limb, paralysis or stiffness, but does tend to want to be lowered extra gently which makes me think this may be a pelvic injury perhaps. She is happy to be placed in my shoe which props her upright for an hour or so before squirming out and onto her side again.

UPDATE - So I searched everywhere for a site that would give me the injectable mls of vitamin b complex for my chick to no avail. I decided rather than guess and risk anaphylaxis ( which in my many years in the veterinary field I witnessed more deaths from vitamin b complex than I choose to remember ) I mixed vegemite ( yeast based spread full of multi vitamins particularly all the b group ) with just enough liquid electrolyte to make it injectable and threaded the needle up the middle of half a dozen fresh meal worms and filled them to almost bursting with the potion before offering them to my floppy little girl. She looks forward to them every day and only today she took 8 steps and can balance herself upright now which she hasn’t been able to do since she went down 2 weeks ago. She can take herself to the food and water bowl now and looks up at me very chuffed with herself in doing so. I’m so thrilled she’s starting to make progress and hope this post can offer others the same satisfaction of nursing our little friends over their mysterious and sudden ailments.
