The first two images are of the larger egg. I couldn’t get it on camera very well but you can see the entire duckling. There also seems to be a lot more clear space in the egg. But it’s moving and as far as I can tell it’s got all it’s parts. I have seen the bill opening and closing I’m on day 21 and am now afraid my air cell might be too small on the larger egg. It has a very saddled air cell but when you move the egg it looks sort of like the membrane is just a bit detached in the dip not that it’s filled with air. I have a homemade incubator for hatching should I move that egg and drop the humidity to 30 or 40? It’s been at 50 for all the eggs. Sorry for all the questions. I never expected these eggs to get this far and now I’m paranoid. The baby just seems to be floating at the bottom and I don’t want him to drown.

I'm not sure that lowering the humidity this late in the game will help but you can try. I'd leave the egg where it is now though...just lower it for all of the eggs. 50% is on the high side.

see I had the mallard egg in with these guy and it was at 40% but the mallard was losing nothing and the Ancona eggs air cells were dropping too fast. So I separated the mallard egg and went to 30% but his membrane was way too dry and his legs were over his head. Thankfully he pipped internally or I never would have known. It looks like all the blood vessels are at the top of the egg too. And it may be stuck. I’ve been trying to not candle the shipped eggs too much. All the other eggs seem right on track. Should I wash the top to maybe get rid of the bloom a bit? I’ve seen a lot of different methods on here. I know the little guys alive and I just want to give him the best chance I can

You can take a dampened sponge and wipe some of the bloom off the egg. you can also spritz a fine mist of warm water (not past the last 3 days) and as it evaporates, it draws more moisture out. I know it sounds backwards, but it can help.

My personal opinion with different sized eggs is just more albumen in some. They may hatch out a little more wet and gooey, but usually that cleans off pretty easily.

Good luck! Can’t wait to see them!!

Thank you for the tips!!! I’ll try that out for the next few days. Im so excited for these guys to hatch! I just can’t wait to see their markings! I’ll definitely post plenty of pictures!

So my large egg started turning dark on one side where the bill was. I began to question when I placed the eggs. I have had three different hatch dates and I realized I mixed my lock down date for the last batch with my hatch date for the second. So my shipped eggs are due any day. The larger eggs air cell is small and I can see tons of albumen in it. Plus it was trying to pip at the small end. Since there are no veins at the bottom and there was no way it would hatch on its own I decided to open the bottom to let the albumen out. So he wouldn’t drown after doing so it has become very obvious something is wrong. The membrane is around the waist of the duckling and the yolk sack and legs are inside of the membrane at the top of the egg. The duckling also seems a bit swollen. I doubt he is going to make it. Was still moving a tiny bit this morning. I knew he wouldn’t hatch without help so I figured this was his best shot at at least a chance. All the other eggs look perfect. I’ll let you know what happens

He did not make it. Upon further inspection his head was malformed including his bill. It seems there was maybe fluid in his skull. His head was quite large.
