Size difference in eggs

Sorry for your loss. I have had that happen too. :hugs
Have they ever survived? This was a shipped egg and I literally heard the mail man drop the package on my porch. I had already set the eggs before I saw that rough handeling could lead to deformities. Strangely I believe this egg may have been started before shipment. It had veining 3 days before the other shipped egg that’s about to hatch now. Two more started and quit within the first 10 days. Now I’ve got all my hopes on this last egg. I bought them because they are supposed to be rare Ancona colors so I’m hoping I get at least one of these babies to make it. I’m putting the last one in lock down today. :fl

Shipped eggs usually don't do as well as local. The unknown handling of packages can and does damage them.

Since yesterday I have seen some shadows and movement in the membrane of the air cell of my little shipped egg. How long do they normally take to break threw? I have him in a separate incubator at about 98.5 degrees and the humidity is 45 right now but I can get it up very quickly once he breaks threw. Or should I raise it now? Just a bit nervous I had to assist the mallard and the other duckling not making it, I really don’t want to have to help more than setting the humidity and maybe playing some peeping sounds. Lol

I wait until I actually see and external pip before I raise humidity.
I wouldn't raise it yet if I were you especially since it was high through out.

Ducks can take a good day or two to make the external pip.

I'd just keep an eye on it for now to make sure he continues to move around.

Try not to mess with the egg too much.

Thank you for the advice!!!! We have an internal pip. I don’t hear peeping but I hear the clicks I’m so excited/ nervous it’s insane.

This is the worse waiting game ever. I hate this part.

Just sit back and wait.
:pop

So we have a hatch!!! Idk what exactly happened but there was some blood at the bottom of the egg. I’d say half a thimble amount. But the yolk is fully absorbed. I think he nicked a vein or something early on. It’s kinda jelly looking. But he is peeping a bit and moving trying to preen. Not moving his head too well but able to a bit. The mallard I hatched had a lot more energy but he didn’t lose any blood. I gave him a little of the save a chick electrolytes stuff. I’ll post more pics as he fluffs. Also one of my Other eggs due on the 8th just internally pipped so that’s happening.
