When do pullets eggs start to get bigger? my 2 pullets started laying last week and their eggs are small, they are blue marans so they should at some point start to lay a good size egg.
I read that a hen's eggs get bigger her whole life. That said, there's clearly variance by breed, and by individual. One of my LB lays VERY wide eggs. Another LB, who was our first layer, lays eggs a good 40% smaller than anyone else's, and she's been laying the longest. I don't include Alexia's eggs in the one's I sell/give away, for that reason.
I was literally just going to ask this question! I have 5 hens and one Rooster. I'm 99% positive only one of my hens is laying as she's the only one my Rooster has seemed to "woo" although I did get two eggs last night. The eggs I'm getting have been varying in color and size but only slightly. My eggs are white-ish to a light brown. The eggs seem to be slightly bigger now than they once were but smaller than the eggs I saw at my Uncle's farm.
