Size wire for bottom of button quail pen

Looking to build breeder pens for button quail. What size wire (1/8 or 1/4) should I use for the bottom of the pen?

I would say as small as possible their feet are soo lil.. Ive never had mine on wire but would think that the 1/8 in would work

1/4 works fine--- the droppings fall thru easily and their feet are big enough to keep them on top of it, BUT they should not be on wire 24/7 as buttons are fragile and tender footed, they need an area of solid surface to go rest on to keep them in good condition.
