I really don't think bleach is very healthy for chickens. I read that somewhere. I use Apple cider vinegar and have never seen mosquitos or larva in their buckets.

Chlorine is chlorine.

Municipal water departments chlorinate the water we receive through the tap. There are some arguments to be made that the addition of chlorine is a health hazard, but the practice continues.

FYI, with a tiny bit of time and a little heat, bleach (NaClO; ie sodium hypochlorite) diluted in water converts to NaCl (sodium chloride; ie salt) and H20 (water).
