I treated my 5 Silkies with Ivermectin cattle drench. They get 4 drops on the skin at the base of their neck. It seems to work good for mites. I also treat their cleaned coop with permethrin. I think they are a little skinny though. I was wondering if Ivermectin treats for worms as well when used topically. I do not want to double dose these birds by giving them a different wormer or giving more orally. They have an excellent diet and no signs of worms (runny off color poo, visible worms, lethargy...) they just seem a little thin. I can’t seem to get a straight answer from the internet if Ivermectin applied topically kills worms. I know it is not the best wormer but I have already used it.
Any knowledge would be helpful. I don’t want to just guess.

Ivermectin stays in the system for 30 days. Most poultry worms are resistant to Ivermectin due to its overuse as a miteacide in poultry. Some types of poultry mites are resistant to Ivermectin as well.
After 30 days if you wish to worm your birds, I recommend Safeguard liquid goat wormer or Valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer and use permethrin liquid or dust for lice/mites.

I used 1/4 cc Valbazen today on all the birds. I did notice roundworms (I think they were roundworms) in poop so now I am afraid that I just killed my birds because I keep reading I was supposed to use Wazine first! I’m doing my best here but I am so concerned.

You must be finding really old posts/information. The Valbazen should be just fine for roundworms.
Wazine has been off the market and off shelves for at least 6-7 months now. You may still find it online at Ebay, but you would pay $$$ for it too.

Valbazen dosage is by weight - 0.08ml per pound of weight, give it orally once, then repeat in 10 days.

Oh good. Thank you. What if I don’t know what kind if worm? Is there a different dosing schedule for everything but roundworms? Ex: 1 day then 10 days later for roundworms or 3 consecutive days then 10 days later for tapeworm, gapeworm ...etc...?

Here you go - this is the dosage and days for the types of worms you would treat with Valbazen.

For Tapeworms you would use Praziquantel
