I guess they didn't feed them. The shoes were enormous though. The one I remember was a man wearing the, and they were easily 6 inches tall, likely more, and it wasn't water in just the heel, it was the entire bottom. Like a shaped fish tank with boots on top. He did look like a pimp.
they all did have an acess hole, I had a friend ho would put fish in his shoes (a betta in each) back in the early 90's
anyway he took them out after each time he wore them and kept the fish in regular bowls in the meantime. he had the same pair for a long time (at least a year I think and they even had names, so it really is in the owner as with all pets. Although it cant be fun for them, he did not do it often either. they were huge boots too easily making him 7 feet tall.
