Hello all,
Ive owned ducks for 6+ years and usually warmed up to me after a few weeks... But now my new ducks seemed not as welcoming. Ive had them since they were five days old, same as all my ducks, and they are about 3 months now. I have one moscovy, 2 mallards, and a pekin, all females. Anyone know how to get them to warm up to me?
Thanks!

My answer is they may or may not. My pekins this year are very stand-offish, ill-mannered and don't seem to like anyone or anything other than food. Last year, the ones I had were adorable. I personally think it's in the breeding. (This is the first group I've had that were like this. The Rouens and Pekins before all were following me around and checking on what I was doing. This year I also purchased 6 adult muscovies and they are more likely to follow me around than the Pekins.)

That being said, as many others have pointed out, food is a wonderful way to get your ducks to like you. Fresh vegetables offered by hand may get them to warm up to you—at least while you have food with you!
