Skowhegan Maine Tractor Supply May 19th chicken swap.

Hey guys! I can't make it to this swap due to my sister's wedding, but I just had a question for the OP of this thread (kinsey, I think). How did you get the Humane society to come? Do you think that they would be interested in coming to more swaps? If you don't mind, I would like to copy your idea, and invite them to the Lewiston swap! What a wonderful idea you had! This could be such an attention getter, for both the swaps and the Humane Society! Win-win situation!

All I did was call and invite them to the swap, after I made sure it was alright with TSC. They were so happy for the invite ! Good luck !

We've been doing the Farmers Market at the Columbia, Ms store for about 2 months. Haven't been able to sell chicks til chick days have ended. We can sell anything farm but just birds (no cows, pigs ect.) Nothing that Tractor Supply has. It's a great way to attract business & get the community involved with the store. Also hand made county items can be sold. Get your feed sac purses ready ;)

Weather permitting I may be bringing some BCMs chicks and some other mixed chicks. I may also bring a couple of white silkie roosters that will be free. I will check to see what else I can bring.

if you are bringing free silkie roos, I'll leave mine at home.

• a tri color mini rex mix doe
• a multi color mini rex mix doe
• a multi color mini rex mix buck
• 2 broken black mini rex baby bucks
• a few older silkie chicks
• maybe some buff silkie chicks
• some accessories and supplies

go ahead and bring yours, I will leave mine here for a little while longer, one of them is still without some feathers on his back becaue he thought he was bigger than he is other picked on him.

thank you, I will bring the white silkie roo. I will also probably bring a champagne colored silkie that could carry the paint gene.
kinsey says there is going to be a door prize so make sure that you all sign up for it.

It may be a little cold on Saturday, so please make sure your animals stay warm. Don't forget boxes to send your animals home in. The next swap I may bring some Marans and some Orpingtons. Let me know your ideas for things you'd like to see for raffles ! Hoppy suggested bags of feed (who can't use an extra bag of feed ?), and incubators. Because this swap is supposed to be big, there will probably be someone there making sure we follow the rules. Chicks less than 8 weeks have to go in lots of 6. How does may 12th sound for the next Skowhegan swap ? Any questions, let me know !

Melissa.
