skunks as predators?

Are skunks interested in chickens as food? Or are they just looking for my chickens food?
Spotted a baby skunk this morning REALLY close to where our 8 week old chicks are free ranging.

i hope not!!! i just witnessed a mom and six itty bitty babies run across the back of our property the other day. yikes.

yes, skunks will kill and eat chicks and eggs but generally won't go after big hens and roosters.
