duckluv waited for HCCLK to respond to her OakHerd post, tapping her foot and opening her book, which was by now soaked with the rain that didn't really exist where she lived....

Dappledsnow drank quietly near the river, unafraid of the storm.

Suddenly a flash of lightning descended on the field, striking the largest tree, a tall beech, and setting it blazing.

"Take cover!" shouted something, not Dappledsnow. He whinnied shrilly in alarm and reared, signalling the others to come near the river.

Moon's head shot up. "Fire" he breathed nudging Golden. "Run, Run!" he yelled nudging her towards the river.
