Does anyone know of a watch that can track your sleep pattern, like a fitbit, but that has data that can be exported? I was keeping a traditional sleep journal for a while, but I had trouble doing it consistently, and data recorded manually will naturally be less accurate than data which is recorded automatically. I have an appointment with a sleep specialist next month for what is likely a circadian rhythm sleep disorder, and I'd like to bring a few weeks of sleep pattern logs.

James, I wanted to ask how the sleep issues are going. I'll email my son and ask him. He is very gadget minded whether he needs them or not.
Thanks! I'm still having the sleep trouble, but I think the time I fall asleep naturally may hover around 5-8 AM, so the rhythm could just be delayed, instead of being free-running, but I really need several weeks of accurate data to make that determination. I may still go and look at fitbits, then I can just copy the data into a notebook manually, and it will still be a lot more accurate, because the exact time will be known, instead of it being an estimate.

I selected a random date just to show you what one is capable of:

I have also used what is pretty much the most basic model of fitbit. You can look at the app or log into an account online to see all the data. Like Kiki's example, where it shows that you are awake/restless in the night, you can get further detail as to what time it was and how long it lasted. You can also export the data in CSV format or Excel. Here is a screen grab. I have not done this, but it looks like you can filter it to just export the parts you want, for instance, just sleep data from this week.

kinda like wearing a watch, it does not have to maintain contact with the skin to work, so it can be worn somewhat loose
I can't remember the last time I wore a watch, but sometimes things like that bother me. I hope it wouldn't bother me immensely, which could disturb my sleep, tainting the results.
