Sleeping baby Chicks.

Hey guys,
I just got my baby RIRs yesterday and today I noticed they're sleeping very often. Is this normal? I'm new at this so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. Another question I have is should I be keeping their white light (it's the light in the room) on 24/7 along with the red heat lamp or not? Thanks in advance!

sleeping often is very common in young chicks. the question is not stupid, it is only natural to be worried when you are a parent!!! the heat lamp should be enough heat, so you dont need the light.

They will need the heat lamp for the first 3 weeks or so and it's fine to leave the room light on if you like. I prefer to turn the overhead light off at night so they can have some night time.

I had heat light on all time but got them used to night and day so no regular light on at night
