Sleeping behavior-slumped to side/falling off perch…exhaustion? Too cold? Concerning?

2x 5-week old chicks (Easter egger & welsummer), moved from basement (65-70 degrees) to garage yesterday (55 degrees during day, but dropped to 30s in the evening).
They had a heat lamp and ”perch” under it (flat, no roost bar, see photo), which they have been sleeping on in basement.

They were active all day. As temp dropped (10-11pm), they were repeatedly jumping on perch under lamp: they’d slowly lay down, wings spreading to some degree, slumping on side/falling over/off perch, (almost looked like paralysis).
New to chickens. I was concerned and brought them back inside.

What might this behavior suggest? Too cold, too exhausted?
Photo attached.
Thank you!

Sunbathing🤣 I remember when I first got chickens and mine did that I was so freaked out! Your babies are adorable and good luck on your chickie Journey!

Sun bathing under the lamp. Normal, they like the warmth.

Thank you! I’ve watched them sunbathing under the lamp during the day looking pretty content. But They were trying to lay down slowly and rolling over onto their side, as if losing coordination/consciousness(?), slowly rolling all the way over, off the surface?
You can kind of see in the photo, almost not aware until falling off…
Still ok?

Thank you. I’ve raised three chickens now, but haven’t seen this yet. It looks different than when the others are bathing in the sun/these chicks under the lamp during the day. They looked like they were falling asleep while trying to lay down, swings spreading and *slowly* rolling onto their side and off the platform(?). Thanks again!!

Of course! Mine do that too🤣 my big chickens dont warm on a perch, just the floor so they lay down. The little chickens fall over becuase they want the warmth everywhere🤣

Good to know lol. Thanks Sara!!

They're super cute! Just wanted to add, be careful with those types of lamps in the cold. They get extremely hot and can actually explode if moisture/ice/anything cold hits them.
