sleeping place

Make sure the roosts are higher than the nests....then either block the nests, or move the nest sleepers to the roost after dark.

Might have to do this for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks until they get the message.

How old are the birds?
How many birds?
How long is the roost? They need about a foot for each bird.

I blocked off the nest until mine started getting closer to laying age. They're creatures of habit so once they get into the habit of getting on the roost, they will just go straight there. I also put a golf ball inside and they seem to know it's a nesting site and not a place to sleep. The roost is also higher than the nest and is a 2x4 so it's comfortable for them.

You might also make sure you have a couple of roosts just in case some birds won't allow others to be on the same roost.
