Sleeping while egg laying

I have a couple of girls that will go into lay an egg, take a nap, lay their egg, take another nap! Sometimes they are in there for hours. I don't think they are broody as this only happens once a day...

any ideas?

I haven't, mine always go out to announce to the world what they have just done! It's pretty funny about the naps!

Yeah it's like they are so cozy in there they just go in and make a good time of the whole thing! They are perfectly healthy although one just had a bad case of lice, all gone now, but I'm hoping that doesn't have anything to do with it

OT, but your BYC page is fun to look at! Love the coop and run, all the chickens look happy! I wish I could let the dogs come along, but they are both a little too interested.

Thanks so much, we actually "remodeled" AGAIN and now everything has a roof and pavers around the perimeter. I need to update the pics...thanks again
