My - soon to be - 5 month old Easter egger pullet walks in front of me and squats into a mating position. She’s held with 2 roosters. A bantam, and a standard. The standard won’t mate her but the bantam is trying even though he’s too small. Is it normal for her to do this? When I go into the coop with them she comes up to my feet and submissively squats, or when I try to pick her up she squats as well. Should I be concerned or is this normal? Please explain why she’s doing this.

Interesting.

My hens stopped doing that for me when their first rooster matured enough to mate with them.

Maybe she's squatting for you because the boys aren't effective at doing their job?
I just watched our Cochin bantam get on her and he’s obviously too small, and our Easter egger rooster is 5 mo as well but he hasn’t matured to mating yet.

Just found this in the coop.. assuming it’s hers?
