One of my hens has a very slight cross beak. She seems to be totally fine other than her beak is a little off centered. I just noticed that her beak is really long. I'm still new to this chicken thing, and I'm wondering if beaks are like fingernails in that they normally wear them down naturally but because hers is crossed it's not doing it the way it should? What should I do? Can I just clip it a little with fingernail clippers or something?

I have a hen with a slightly crossed beak and I've not had to trim it... but if you feel your girl's is too long, I do know you can use an emory board or file to file it. I don't think I'd take much off though unless you think it's causing her problems.
