Slight rant..

Sure I do, it's just 10 minutes away. I take the boys there lots of times for free entertainment.

If someone came up to my house to ask my permission to jump over my fence to take a few pictures of a covered bridge, I think I'd smack them. I'd rather have privacy and quiet rather than the intrusions over a minor trespass.

I'd much rather they just take the pictures and go.

There are tons of folks whose hobby it is to take pictures of covered bridges. Do you really want to be innundated with folks asking permission every time they had to back up to snap a decent picture?

I agree with another poster that you should take it as a nice compliment to what a wonderful location you have chosen to live.

Sure, there's a small chance some doofus will get trampled by cattle but is there one among us who haven't gone where we shouldn't have gone to snap a quick pic of something we found to be awesome?

Yeah...until that "snapshot" costs you your house , land , and everything else you own . It's a sad state our world is in when robbers can sue you for breaking a leg while they were trying to break into your house . Most people with property have horses or cows...so if you leave a gate open....that spells headache and TROUBLE . I don't know about you , but I was taught young not to trespass on someones land without permission . That's just a common courtesy . I won't even go into all of the people last year that parked in our driveway...argued with us about hunting on our fenced land . If it ain't yours...don't touch it .

right after we got married my wife and I live just a short distance from the county fairgrounds. We came home and pulled into our driveway along side of a strange car. The strange driver was just getting out of his car and he confronted me and said do you have permission to park here?? I said no I don't need it.. he said you better move your car then.. I asked him if he had permission and he said yes he did.. OH? well it turned out he was visiting the people who lived upstairs.. we had a chuckle about it with the later on..

but I agree that some people feel that since there is so much space that it is OK to use the land without permission..

I used to do a lot of hunting and I always asked for permission..I hunted some very bontiful woods that were posted to everybody else because they just wouldn't ask

the farmers only want to know who is around on their land.. who can blame them??

You want people jumping across your high tinsel electric fence?

There is place to take pics without going in my pasture or parking in my yard..

I would go out and take photos of them on my property. I would photograph their car and tag number too. It will make them EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

Snapping a few unprofessional quick pics and hunting is an apples and oranges discussion...

I just lament the days when folks didn't get so upset when anybody had the "audacity" to set foot a few yards on their property.

My favorite is when I see on long country roads, signs posted in people's driveways not to use it as a turnaround. How ridiculous is that? Normally, that's the safest place to turn around...in someone's driveway and not the middle of the road.

We're not talking about someone trespassing on the land for devious intent. It's just use as a quick courtesy.

And I wouldn't want some stranger trespassing all the way up my property (cataloging everything they see along the way, upsetting the animals to a greater degree) to knock on my door, interrupt my life to ask permission to take a few pictures. In fact, someone who did that, I would assume was "casing the property" either for devious intent or they were just being nebby.

Just my two cents. Don't mean to start an argument. I just don't see the logic in inviting folks even further on your land when you don't want them 10 yards on it.
