Hi all...our flock this time around has been one thing after another so here goes again...
We just replaced our Roos with three new pullets about four months old. They seemed fine and to get along well initially however two days into the introduction to our other pullet one of the new chickens (Rook) started seeming a little lethargic.
She is definitely the lowest on the peeking order and started kinda 'laying around' as opposed to being up and all over the place like the others.
When I go in the run she perks up and still does the normal chicken stuff like not really wanting to get picked up and squawking in resistance etc. But when left alone she still ends up hunkering down and closing her eyes.
Four days in I saw a poo that looks just like the shedding of intestinal lining picture on the poo picture web page. I know it is from her as there is a little on her feathers. It is definitely not like the blood picture and I can only see one poo like that in the last 24hrs in the run and coop.
My thought are that she may have worms that are slowing her down a bit as there are no mits that I can see. I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas.
I kept the other chickens in the coop and let Rook out alone and she ate and drank and seemed a little more happy to be without the other around for a bit. I have also put out yogurt for her with her feed in it which she likes.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
I was thinking of going and getting a wormer just in case that is the issue?
Thanks for all the help and support here!! Any opinions are welcome.
