Slipped tendon at hatch?

Do you think she might have splayed leg? That's where one or two legs slide out from under a chick and it can't walk correctly.
No it's like curled under her . Her elbow feels like it never did develop correctly. It's very odd but her sire has some issues too so I'm not super surprised. He had slipped in with my girls (for like 30 mins) a week before I started the incubator and I unfortunately got one of his fertilized eggs in there. I usually have him in a seperate pen with one hen because I don't want to breed him. He is cross beaked, has a crooked neck from hatch and a messed up wing. But he is a sweetheart and does amazing. I didn't realize little pip was his until she was a couple days old and saw the feathers starting to come in on her legs.

I did have my neighbor check her for me because she hatches to sell so she has much more incubator experience than me. She did try the slipped tendon technique because she's dealt with it before but she also thinks her elbow didn't develop

That makes more sense; hopefully she'll be able to live a happy life regardless 😊

Here she is at two weeks. Still getting around pretty great and keeping up with the others. This is how she holds it

I had a chick hatch last year where three of its toes fused together during its incubation but there wasn't any way to straighten them out. He got around fine regardless and became a handsome cockerel. 😊 This is what his foot looked like at hatch and once he was grown.

To see if it's slipped tendon, she may not like it but take the injured leg in a position like a chicken stretched out which is straight back. Then where the leg bends you will feel and see the difference of tendon placement. The tendon is supposed to sit straight going over the joint and straight down. You may just have to try to feel around if it seems to be a slipped tendon. If it is when you move it, the tendon will pop in and out of place. Here's another video demonstrating that so you know what to look for.
