Hi! I need help concerning the chick on the left. She is a day old, and she has her leg back. She can sit like a normal chick if you pick her up and put her in your hand, but when you put her down, her leg keeps going backwards. She also has trouble moving around.

I have no idea what this is and how to treat it. This has never happened before.
I looked it up, and it seems like slipped tendon, but she has also been this way practically since she hatched.
If it is slipped tendon, can anyone who treated it successfully, give me any directions?

Thank you so much for your reply! We looked the chick, and the tendons seemed normal.
We felt around, and figured out that her hip is dislocated.

Does anyone know how wrap or splint the hip so that it’s immobile for a while? Or at least stay’s in the right place long enough to heal?

I could definitely try that. I just don’t know if the wrap around the legs is going to keep the hip itself in place.
I also tried to put her in a cup/sling, and she was trying to get out of it all the time that she was there.
